An appearance at the Rory Gallagher festival is also  booked in for October 2026 in Bergamo & the band will be play in a set dedicated to the music of Roy Buchanan at the Barnoldswick music centre in the UK this August.

THE BAND

The band features the talents of Kevin O’Rourke on drums, Kevin has many years of experience behind him & has shared stages with the likes of Matt Scofield & Jason Rebello, he is also available for teaching.

On Bass, we have Kevin Jefferies who like Kev O has many years of professional experience behind him & who has played in Roger Taylor’s band ( Queen) both live &  in the studio)

Our latest recruit is Keyboard virtuoso Ray Drury who has replaced our wonderful friend Anders Olinder due to Anders’ increasing work commitment both in the studio & live.

Ray is a legend on the Portsmouth/Southampton scene & is also much in demand so we are very lucky to have him in board.

THE GEAR

I get asked about guitars all the time & let’s face they are just bits of wood & metal but as any guitarist knows we can get very attached to them. My main stage guitar is my Green Gibson SG “Freya” who I have owned for many years, she has been mended & glued back so many times it’s a wonder she still works, including the time when an Airline who I won’t name snapped the lower bout off her body after a flight home from America. If I’m flying in Europe I always take a soft carry case & buy my guitars a seat, it’s not only safer but cheaper. For slide I play my reissued Red Epiphone Coronet “Inka” because she’s lightweight, sings & plays like a dream. For anyone interested in slide I usually tune to open E or open C quite often tune my Taylor acoustic to DADGAD.

I also have “Doris” my sunburst Les Paul who is semi-retired due to bits falling off her & “Monica” my sunburst Strat who comes with me on Rory tribute shows.

I try not to use too many pedals as if anything is going to go wrong it will, usually just before taking the stage at a big festival  with my bad luck but I usually take a Boss tuner, Crybaby wah wah, a Rockett Archer for some oomph, & I’ve started taking a Plethora x3 pedal for delays & tremelo etc.

I use a Boogie Fillmore 50 watt combo for all my gigs, blues, jazz, rock & everything in between, I’ve had it for years & it handles everything. For bigger stages I pair it with a matching speaker cab to get a bit more sound.
